Hi Ken. \u00a0I agree that there are a variety of ways to play it. \u00a0My personal preference is \u201cless than a limit raise, not suicidal\u201d, i.e. don\u2019t do it with very few\u00a0HCP if you\u2019re vulnerable. \u00a0You need to work this out with your partner. \u00a0Your opponent\u2019s suggestion is one way to do it, except that there are some hands in the 6-9 range with a singleton in a major and 5 card support for your partner where I would make the inverted raise and not bid NT. \u00a0It\u2019s also easier if your partner opens 1C, as you can occasionally temporize with a 1D bid.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what Max Hardy wrote in his \u201cTwo Over One Game Force\u201d book, page 51:<\/div>\n
